Design Complies with Best Practices of Modern Web Design

The IN.gov design is built based on today’s modern Web design standards. Content is marked up semantically so that the underlying HTML markup properly designates the content displayed. Additionally, content and design are separated in accordance with modern Web design standards.

This separation of content and design has many benefits, which include:

• making it easier to make enterprise style changes across the entire site with the change of one cascading style sheet (CSS);
• faster page load times;
• pages that are more accessible to impaired users who use alternative devices; and,
• allowing the same content to be appropriately formatted for other devices, such as
handhelds and printers, with only a different style sheet.
